My name is Brooke Kries and I am a junior at Sewickley Academy. My mission is to increase children’s access to books so that they can experience the positive benefits of reading. Especially during the pandemic, reading can act as a productive and enjoyable pastime, allowing children to be transported to alternative worlds, whether dystopian, fantasy, or fiction. There are lots of books that are sitting in our homes, unused, that could be given a new purpose – a happy ending.
I would appreciate any donations of new or lightly used books, suitable for ages 0-12. Due to intense cleaning to meet COVID-19 guidelines, books at facilities have been damaged, especially toddler board/cloth books. The books will be donated to the Sewickley Community Center, YMCA, Laughlin Center, and Center for Hope.
Thank you for your contributions!
