CAMPBELL STONER WEEKEND PRESENTS HARMONY OVER DISCORD
Harmony Over Discord | November 7–8
Join us for Harmony Over Discord, a special Campbell Stoner Weekend bringing together preaching, music, art, and fellowship at Sewickley Presbyterian Church. This year’s featured guest is Rev. Dr. Jonathan Lee Walton, President of Princeton Theological Seminary.
Saturday, November 7 | 7:00 p.m.
Keynote Address: Christian Formation in the Age of Algorithms
Dr. Walton will explore what Christian formation looks like in an age shaped by algorithms, outrage, ideological conformity, and simplified categories—and how Christian communities can cultivate worship, humility, empathy, and neighborly love as part of faithful witness.
Thomas Wendt Jazz Quartet
Following the keynote, enjoy a live performance by the Thomas Wendt Jazz Quartet, featuring Thomas Wendt on drums, Scott Boni on alto saxophone, Theron Brown on piano, and Paul Thompson on bass.
Sunday, November 8 | 10:00 a.m.
One Worship Service Only
Dr. Walton will preach Beloved before Becoming during our 10:00 a.m. worship service. We will also welcome guest vocal soloists Marianne Cornetti and Anna Singer.
Reception
Following worship, join us in the Robinson Room for a special reception and an opportunity to meet Dr. Walton.
A New Canvas Art Exhibition
While you are here, experience A New Canvas, a special art exhibition created for Harmony Over Discord. The exhibit brings together paintings, prints, sculpture, stained glass, mosaic, photography, fabric works, children’s art, and other pieces created, loaned, or donated by members and friends of SPC.
At the center of the exhibition is The Return of the Prodigal, a bronze sculpture by acclaimed artist and author Charlie Mackesy, OBE. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect on themes of peace, perseverance, faith, reconciliation, and the search for harmony amid discord.
We are also accepting additional donations toward Campbell Stoner Weekend 2026. Please be sure to select the correct giving option from the dropdown on the giving form “Campbell Stoner Weekend”. Thank you!
