DROP OFF DAYS, PREP WEEK & DAY OF SALE

Working the day of the sale is a lot of fun (believe it or not!). Just as with Donation Drop-Off Days, there is a need for many to help on the day of the sale and the week leading up to it. A schedule and departments are listed below. Sign-up for one that interests you and the department Chair will contact you about the details.

Prep Week Schedule & Sale Day

September 7–12, 2026

We’re getting ready for this year’s Day on the Lawn Rummage Sale on Saturday, September 12 from 9 AM–3 PM. There are many ways to help throughout Prep Week, and volunteers of all ages are welcome.

Monday, September 7

Department Work Day

Even though this is a holiday, departments are welcome to sort through merchandise and begin preparing items for move-in to sale areas.

Tuesday, September 8

All Hands on Deck: Home Goods & Linens

Time: Beginning at 3 PM until finished
provided

Help set up the Home Goods & Linens departments in their sale tents. Volunteers of all ages are welcome.

Projects include:

  • Carrying items outside from the Chapel
  • Placing items on tables
  • Pricing and organizing merchandise
  • Setting up tables and larger items

Most items are lightweight and easy to carry, though strong hands are always appreciated for larger boxes and table setup.

Wednesday, September 9

Great Furniture Move

Time: 5 PM

The Great Furniture Move is one of the biggest prep nights of the week. We’ll move stored furniture from the Faith House Basement, Garage, and trailer into the furniture tents.

You provide the muscle — we’ll provide the pizza.

Thursday, September 10

Departments Price & Sort Day

Join others in helping departments organize, price, and prepare merchandise for the sale.

Friday, September 11

Bakery & Deli Drop-Off Day

Do you enjoy baking or cooking? We are looking for homemade items to stock our Bakery & Deli areas.

Suggested items include:

  • Sweet treats and baked goods
  • Soups, casseroles, and pasta dishes
  • Frozen or fresh prepared foods
  • Sugar-free and gluten-free items
  • Grab-and-go packaged foods

Please package items in disposable containers with clear lids and label all items with ingredients and allergens.

Cookies may be packaged:

  • Individually (1–3 cookies per bag)
  • By the dozen

Please drop off all Bakery & Deli items in the church kitchen on Friday, September 11.

Friday, September 11

DOL Volunteer Presale

4:30–6:30 PM

Anyone who has helped with Day on the Lawn in any capacity is invited to attend the Volunteer Presale.

To shop during the presale, you will need a presale shopping bracelet. Bracelets will be distributed outside the Ansby entrance beginning at 4:30 PM.

Please plan to take all purchases home with you that evening. To help support the mission focus of Day on the Lawn, we ask that family and friends wait until Saturday to shop.
